The Atlanta rapper's debut album follows his release from prison.
Samadengankata - A Gift & a Curse, Gunna's first album since 2022's DS4Ever, and more crucially, his first since he was let out of prison in December, is published today. The Atlanta rapper was detained in May 2022 as part of a complex RICO investigation that also included Young Thug, the head of Gunna's record label, and many of his collaborators. Gunna's most recent song, "bread & butter," which is on the new album, makes reference to how he was able to obtain freedom by negotiating a plea agreement.
Just one day after the rapper's announcement of the album on his 30th birthday, a Gift & a Curse is released. This 15-track project, in contrast to Gunna's other work, is entirely devoid of features.
